Success for Datsun at Tour Britannia
Datsun 240Z Driven by Brad Mottier and Navigated by his Son Barry Mottier get 2nd in Class and 2nd Overall at 2009 Tour Britannia
Thanks for completing and preparing the Works Spec Datsun 240Z for the 2009 Tour Britannia. By now you know that we finished second overall, only 2.2 seconds out of first place after 650 miles! Not only did the Datsun perform beautifully, it also looked fantastic and drew crowds and praise wherever we went.
Thinking back a couple of years to when I first talked with Chris about building an Works Spec 240Z and all of the fun we had in the process, I am even more pleased. Getting access to Nissan's ZAMA City warehouse, where the original 1972 Monte Carlo Works 240Z is stored, in order to document the original car, was a thrill for me. But now that the project is done, FIA papers have been received, and I can drive the car and get a sense of what Tony Fall, Rauno Aaltonen, and Shekhar Mehta experienced 35 years ago -- the project is complete!
Greenwood Motorsport deserves a lot of the credit for completing such a project. Thank you to everyone involved.
